PRETTY WORDS.
I am lucky enough to recieve some beautiful emails in regards to my site. I wanted to take this moment to share a few of my favourite pieces.
" ….I also realise, however, that it isn't beautifully
tragic either, or particularly emotive, but to me, this picture
is everything.
So thank you so much."
"I've never had my heart broken like this before.
So I took a picture."
"I have thought for a long time about submitting my own picture, but I have been a little afraid of exposing myself in such a vulnerable way, since I have very low self esteem and a crying picture of me certainly doesn't make me feel beautiful. Thank you so much for showing that crying is natural, beautiful and useful."
"I've suffered from depression for almost 2 years now. I often find it interesting to take photos of myself whilst I'm crying or upset because it's such a natural, raw emotion that is so often done in private that to capture it seems special."
"As a fellow painter, I think that the concept behind your site is really
interesting. It must be wonderful having a brief glimpse into the most
private, intimate moments of a stranger's life...through their tears."
"I wish my tears had waited for me to put on something pretty."
"….my friend took a picture and well, to be honest,
its the lowest I've ever seen myself but it covers how
I was feeling well.... I'm especially pleased
someone has created a site like this."
"Paint me some tears to go with the pain?"
"I think what you're doing is beautiful and I wanted to see if it's possible to work for me. The beauty from pain thing."
"Thank You. I am art. If only I could write some version of you
to give to you."
"the painting is one of the loveliest portraits i've ever
seen of myself.
i finally feel beautiful.
thank you for that. i mean, really. thank you."
"When I wanted nothing more than to die, last summer, the
first thing that really hit me was when you painted me for Share
Your Tears. Suddenly, I mattered."
